At-home family advisory

Realizing that family members and guardians are most influential to children’s development, one of the priorities of Poder Joven Foundation is providing advisory and support to all families of the children we serve. During these visits we discuss moral principles, family values, communication strategies, nutritional needs, and management of family budgets.

Talent Show

During the month of May we conducted our yearly talent show. While enthusiastically participating this year, children followed social distancing protocols. Categories included dancing, singing, and storytelling. It was a magical day full of joy and entertainment. But more than an art event, this is an excellent strategy to promote self-esteem and self-confidence in the children.

Grocery Packages

The global pandemic combined with mass protests throughout Colombia have resulted in major economic development drawbacks, especially for vulnerable populations. Poder Joven has witnessed this reality firsthand through the families of the children we served. To help alleviate their basic needs of survival, we have distributed 890 grocery packages to families in the neighborhoods we served from March 2020 to date.

DIGITAL NEWSLETTER – APRIL 2026

At Poder Joven, we seek the holistic well-being of our children; for this reason, we offer them activities designed to develop their cognitive and social skills. However, the nutritional support we provide daily is no less important. At our facilities, we serve a total of 230 meals per day (5,060 full meals each month). This nutritional support enables our kids to enjoy the activities we offer and helps them concentrate more easily during the academic reinforcement sessions.
