Bringing Christmas Joy

During December —like the rest of the year—we did special activities with the children at their own homes. In the wake of social distancing requirements, it has been our goal to make sure that the children served by Poder Joven can feel the support of our foundation, and this was particularly important during the Christmas season. One activity consisted of bringing each child Christmas cookies along with ingredients for decorating them. We continued providing families with basic groceries regularly and served over 1,000 lunches for members of the community every month.

Groceries and Christmas Gifts

Group gathering restrictions prevented Poder Joven Foundation from offering the traditional annual Christmas Party. However, and thanks to the financial support from friends and sponsors, we provided Christmas packages for 130 vulnerable families. Each package contained groceries, new clothes, and new toys. We feel it is wonderful that we could conclude the year by sharing with those who now need our help more than ever before.

We are happy to announce our fully updated website. There you will find current information about the foundation, alternative options to support our work, and archived digital newsletters. We added the option to making donations online through our USA partner “Friends of the Third World” or directly through PayPal.

2020 brought great challenges to everyone, but this was also an opportunity to test our resilience and the ability to serve with determination those most affected by the pandemic. Thank you for your partnership and support!!

DIGITAL NEWSLETTER – APRIL 2026

At Poder Joven, we seek the holistic well-being of our children; for this reason, we offer them activities designed to develop their cognitive and social skills. However, the nutritional support we provide daily is no less important. At our facilities, we serve a total of 230 meals per day (5,060 full meals each month). This nutritional support enables our kids to enjoy the activities we offer and helps them concentrate more easily during the academic reinforcement sessions.

In the month of May, we invited the children’s families to enjoy a joyful afternoon of music, prizes, and fun. We know how important it is to work closely with the children’s immediate families, as this is where the learning and behaviors originate. For this reason, we strive to educate parents about the need to serve as positive role models for the proper development of their children’s personalities.
